New staff appointed at UALR Office of Alumni and Development

Bob Denman, vice chancellor for University Advancement at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, has announced several appointments in the UALR Office of Alumni and Development, including Joseph Lampo as the new director of development for the College of Arts, Letters and Sciences.

Lampo’s extensive professional history includes service as the independent curator and consultant in the arts at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock from 2012 to 2014. He was the deputy director of programs and curator at the Arkansas Arts Center from 2004 to 2012 and the interim director of the center from 2010 to 2011.Joe Lampo

He has worked professionally with a number of law firms including Polsinelli, White, Vardeman & Shalton, as well as Niewald, Waldeck & Brown, both in Kansas City.

Lampo received a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of Missouri, Columbia, and a Master of Arts degree in international relations from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. He holds an M.A. degree in art history from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, and a juris doctor from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law.

Denman also announced that Cathy Dicus has been promoted to director of information management and prospect research in the UALR Office of Alumni and Development.

Dicus, who earned her Bachelor of Science degree in business administration at the University of Arkansas, most recently served as a senior research associate for the UALR Office of Alumni and Development. In that capacity, she was responsible for coordinating research on individuals, corporations, and foundations to identify potential supporters of the campus.

While at the University of Arkansas, she assisted the director of development research in establishing a department to support the UA’s Campaign for the 21st Century.

In addition, Kevin Rushing has joined the UALR Office of Alumni and Development as systems specialist. He most recently worked as owner and developer of Momentum Games LLC. Rushing graduated magna cum laude with a degree in computer science from UALR in May 2013.
