International Celebration Week honors diversity Nov. 17-20

International Celebration Week honors diversity of cultures, ideas, music, food, and traditions around the world and on campus and celebrates the benefits of international education and global exchange.

The initiative promotes programs that prepare students for the global setting and attracts future leaders from abroad to study and learn in the U.S.

UALR will host the following events Nov. 17-20 in honor of International Celebration Week.

International Celebration Week Events 2014

Monday, Nov. 17–Thanksgiving Dinner

6 to 9 p.m. in Donaghey Student Center, Ledbetter Rooms A, B, & C

Students come together to celebrate the American cultural holiday of Thanksgiving. Seating is open to the community. Stop by the Office of Campus Life (DSC 216) to reserve tickets.

Tuesday, Nov. 18–International Celebration Day and International Night

11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in DSC Ledbetter Rooms A, B, & CInternational Celebration Day

UALR international students host an eventful display of varying cultures. Taste food, learn new phrases, enjoy dances and singing, and meet fantastic people from all over the world. Want to share your culture? Sign up to represent your home country.

7 to 9 p.m. in the Commons Great Room.

Join residence life for a night of international games, food, crafts, music and a movie.

Wednesday, Nov. 19–Study abroad fair and international Careers Panel Discussion

11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in DSC Ledbetter Room A

Considering an international career? Learn from our guest panelists from the fields of development, entrepreneurship, trade, and education.

9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in DSC Upper Concourse with sessions in the Leadership Lounge

Hear from study abroad students, talk about programs that fit academic interests, vote for a favorite Trojans Travels photo, and hang out at the ice cream social.

Thursday, Nov. 20–Interfaith Dialog

11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the DSC Leadership Lounge

Enjoy lunch and an intriguing conversation with students and community members from varying cultural and religious backgrounds. Reserve a seat today.
