Psychology professor gives talk during pediatric conference in China
A UALR psychology professor was invited to speak at a pediatric conference in China with the theme “Kids’ Health Today, Human’s Hope Tomorrow.”
Dr. Elisabeth Sherwin gave her presentation on “Issues in Reintegrating Children into School after TBI (traumatic brain injury)” during the Second Annual World Congress of of Pediatrics, held Oct. 23 to 26 in Taiyuan, China.
The session was moderated by Dr. Nancy Y. Wang, an associate director of pediatric emergency medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.
The conference was hosted by the Information Research Center of International Talents, China State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, the National Center for Women and children’s Health, China CC, and Shanxi Children’s Hospital, Shanxi Province Maternity Hospital.
Sherwin earned a Ph.D. in social psychology and an M.S. degree in clinical psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. She received a B.A. from Bar Ilan University in Ramat Gan, Israel, where she graduated magna cum laude.
