University area residents eligible for free screenings, gym memberships
The UALR Growing Healthy Communities Wellness Fair on Saturday, Dec. 6, will offer University District residents free health assessments to identify risks and learn ways to eliminate bad habits to improve health.
The fair will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the UALR Donaghey Student Fitness Center.
University District residents 18 and older will receive a free one-year membership to the UALR fitness center for participating.
The fitness center offers weights and cardio training equipment, an indoor track, aquatics, basketball and racquetball courts, aerobics, table tennis, volleyball, and group fitness classes, among other options.
The event is being sponsored by UALR’s College of Education and Health Professions, Department of Health, Human Performance and Sport Management, the Donaghey Student Fitness Center’s Fit-Well Program, and Health Promotion, Programs and Education, and Health Services.
Registration is required by Dec. 3, and district residents must bring proof of residence and a photo identification. Register online or by calling 501.683.7575.
