Chancellor appoints Southern Bancorp’s Williams to Tech Park Board

UALR Chancellor Joel Anderson has named Southern Bancorp CEO Darrin Williams to the Little Rock Technology Park Authority Board.

“Mr. Williams’ background and experience in finance, law and politics will be a great asset to the board, particularly at this time,” Anderson said. “I am grateful for his willingness to accept this appointment.”

Williams will complete the term of former board member Bob Johnson, who resigned in November.

A former state representative from Little Rock, Williams is an attorney and principal at Carney Williams Bates Pulliam & Bowman PLLC.

“We welcome Mr. Williams to the board,” said tech park Director Brent Birch. “He brings to the board a wealth of diverse knowledge and experience and we look forward to benefiting from his input and guidance.”

The tech park is in the process of acquiring property along Main Street in downtown Little Rock. UALR, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, the city of Little Rock and Arkansas Children’s Hospital are partners in the park.
