UALR alumnus Edmond Waters was recently named as commissioner of the Arkansas Securities Department by Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson.

Waters, a native of Helena, is a former vice president of A.G. Edwards & Sons. He was a branch manager and financial advisor in the Fort Walton Beach and Destin, Fla. branches for 21 years.

“It pleases me to name Edmond Waters as commissioner of the Arkansas Securities Department,” Hutchinson said, in a recent statement.

“He brings vast experience and knowledge to the job, and his understanding of the issues and background in finance will serve him well in this key post in my administration.”
