KATV presents medical marijuana debate

The public is invited to a town hall debate on the Arkansas Medical Cannabis Act and the Arkansas Hemp and Marijuana Legalization Amendment at 7 p.m. tonight (Thursday, Sept. 3) at the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall on the University of Arkansas at Little Rock campus.

“We believe that this is an important public policy issue that will be and should be debated by Arkansans,” said a statement from KATV Channel 7, the presenter and organizer of the debate.

If the proposed act and amendment receive enough signatures, both will be on the ballot in the 2016 November general election.

During the meeting, panelists will discuss medical marijuana, while members of the audience will be invited to give their input. KATV also is scheduled to release new polling data on the subject.

The station plans to broadcast the meeting on its sub-channel, 7.2, and stream live video of the event at www.katv.com.
