Pianist, arranger Norman Boehm to perform Oct. 29

The Music Department at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock will host a piano recital by Norman Boehm at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall.

Admission is free and open to the public. Parking is available in Lot 8, between the Fine Arts and Engineering and Information Technology buildings.

Boehm is well known for his arrangements of orchestral scores including his virtuoso arrangement for piano of Sir Edgar Elgar’s “Second Symphony.”

He was awarded the first prize in the Delius Prize competition and competed in the Van Cliburn piano competition.

A graduate of the University of Michigan and the Eastman School of Music, Boehm has been a member of the Hendrix College faculty since 1986.

He teaches piano and music theory courses.
