Nearly 1,300 Apply to Graduate in Spring Commencement

Nearly 1,300 seniors and graduate students have applied to graduate from UALR this spring and summer, including hundreds planning to walk across the stage at the Jack Stephens Center on Saturday, May 17, to receive their degrees.

Graduates of the colleges of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; Education; and Professional Studies will attend the 9:30 a.m. ceremony. Graduates of the colleges of Business, Science and Mathematics, and Engineering and Information Technology will attend the 3 p.m. event.

About 122 law students have applied to graduate from the William H. Bowen School of Law. Hooding ceremonies for law students will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the Statehouse Convention Center Ballroom. James L. “Skip” Rutherford, dean of the Clinton School of Public Service, will speak at the ceremony.
