Single Mother Scholar to be Featured in Society Press

Health Sciences Instructor Jenea Schneider, a 2003 graduate of UALR, will be featured in the October issues of central Arkansas society pages in October to promote the Single Parent Scholarship Fund of Pulaski County and how the scholarship affected her life.

Schneider received the Single Parent Scholarship when she was 18 and a mother of a daughter. She earned a bachelor’s of science degree in science and mathematics and a master’s degree in education in 2005. Both degrees came from UALR.

She is an instructor of health sciences at UALR and is working on her Ph.D in health studies at Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas. Her daughter is now 10 and she and her husband have two additional children.
This year the scholarship fund awarded more than $100,000 to single mothers and fathers in the county.
