Alumni ‘Taste of Latin America’ Set to Raise $100,000
Organizers of UALR’s Alumni Association’s “Taste of Latin America” are already working on plans for the March 19 event they hope will raise $100,000 in scholarship funds.
Leo and Crissy Monterrey, who were classmates at the Bowen School of Law, are co-chairing the event. Crissy, who graduated in 2006, and Leo, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 2004 and a law degree in 2007, are seeking patrons and rising patrons for the popular “Taste Of…” event.
This year, alums and friends will be invited to become patrons of the annual event for a $300 contribution, receiving four complimentary tickets. Supporters also can be rising patrons for $100, receiving two tickets. Patrons and rising patrons will also be recognized on the Alumni Association website and in its e-newsletter. The deadline is Dec. 31 to be included in printed materials for the event.
Whether patron, rising patron, alum, or friend of UALR, all attendees at the March 19 “Taste of Latin America” event all be working to impact the success of UALR students.
The committee helping the Monterrey with the upcoming fiesta includes Tjuana Byrd ’96, Mary Cantrell ’84 ’99, Scott Gordon ’77, Drew Higginbothom ’06, Joy Matlock ’96, Angela Parker ’94, Kim Pruitt ’81, and Robert Tellez ’07.
