The international academic press and national media outlets highlighted research conducted by UALR professors last week.

The Journal of Law and Economics presentation of research by Dr. Gary Wagner, professor of economics and finance, and his co-researcher from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis shows evidence that tough economic times can translate into more traffic tickets for motorists.

Their study of 14 years of revenue and traffic citations data resulted in news stories and broadcast interviews for Wagner in numerous outlets, including coverage in Yahoo! Politics News, KARK-TV, in Germany, CBC (Canada), Bright Surf (UK), St. Louis Today, and Enterprisenews in Massachusetts.

Dr. Jeff Gaffney, chair of UALR’s Department of Chemistry, and his research team’s work on climate change at the American Meteorological Society earlier this month resulted in an article in Science Today.
