March 2 is the deadline to apply for privately funded scholarships for students intending to enroll in the 2009-2010 academic year, said Karin Bara, coordinator of scholarships in UALR’s Office of Development.

The deadline also applies to students who already have a UALR private scholarship. Students wishing to renew a scholarship must submit an application.

Applications can be found by visiting the private scholarship website. Completed applications can be submitted online or submitted to the address on the application.

To be considered for a UALR private scholarships, students must also submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The UALR school code is 001101. FAFSA applications must also be received by UALR by March 2.

Bara said scholarships are awarded based on available funding. All applications are reviewed and recipients are chosen through a UALR Scholarship Committee.
