SGA Announces ‘Reach 12,000’ campaign
The Student Government Association will conduct its second annual “Reach 12,000” community service project for the fall 2010 semester — to collect at least 12,000 canned goods and other non-perishable items.
“The number symbolizes the approximate number of enrolled students at UALR,” said Simone Lewis of Little Rock, a senior majoring in information science, journalism, and philosophy. She is the 2010-2011 president of the Student Government Association. “The goal of this project is not just to carry out another community service project. The goal is to actually make a difference for Arkansas families in need.”
Students, staff, and faculty are asked to bring canned goods and other non-perishable items to the SGA offices in the Donaghey Student Center from now until Nov. 12. All proceeds collected will be donated to the Arkansas Foodbank Network. Visit the SGA website and track the progress of the drive.
