UALR’s Middle Eastern Studies Program will present “The Armenian Massacres in Ottoman Turkey: A Disputed Genocide” at 6 p.m. March 17 in Dickinson Auditorium. Professor Emeritus of Political Science at University of Massachusetts , Dr. Guenter Lewy will discuss his book, “The Armenian Massacres in Ottoman Turkey – A Disputed Genocide,” which shows the tragedy of the people of dissolving Ottoman Empire. After living side by side for centuries what triggered them to turn onto each other? What really happened between 1914-1918 or is there something else outside this time frame?

The presentation will be held from 6 to 6:45 p.m., followed by an informal question-and-answer session. A reception and book signing will begin at 7:15 p.m. Free parking is available in lots 12,13,14, and 15 and the deck.
