Coleman Creek Cleanup Day

Volunteers are invited to join the Coleman Creek Greenway Committee on April 4 for the second annual Coleman Creek Cleanup Day. At 9 a.m., meet other volunteers in Parking Lot 2 just west of the UALR parking garage and just north of the tennis courts by the old DPS building that now houses the Office of Communications.

If 9 a.m. is too early, there will be a second starting time at 10 a.m. Project coordinators will be wearing yellow T-shirts. Volunteers will walk in the creek and along the creek banks picking up the trash that accumulates after heavy rains.

Plastic trash bags and gloves will be provided, but if you have your own work gloves feel free to bring them. A small back pack or fanny pack would also be useful to carry water or a snack. Volunteers should plan to wear long pants, long sleeves, and boots or footwear that you don’t mind getting wet or muddy.

Lunch will be provided by Sodexo.

If there is heavy rain planners will reschedule the event since access to the creek will be difficult or impossible due to the rising water level.
