Seminar Merges Sustainability and Profitablity
Dr. Nancy Landrum, associate professor of management and founder of the Sustainable Business Network of Central Arkansas, will lead participants in a discussion of how small business owners can implement low-cost strategies to make their business more environmentally friendly and turn a profit at the same time at the Arkansas Small Business Technology Development Center’s Entrepreneur Week seminar.
The new seminar, “Sustainable Business Practices: Make a Profit and Make a Difference,” will premier at 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, in the Donald W. Reynolds Business Center.
The event is co-sponsored by Sustainable Business Design Consulting. Cost of the seminar is $40 and registration is required for all attendees and can be completed through the ASBTDC website.
The session will introduce the topic of sustainable business, which focuses on the triple bottom line of operating in a manner that is environmentally-friendly, socially responsible, and economically viable.
“The session will then review examples of businesses that have made a profit while making a difference,” Landrum said. “Participants will learn tips on how your business can start implementing sustainable business practices today.”
