Undergrads Display Research Projects
UALR students will showcase 50 research projects at the 2009 Undergraduate Research Expo from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, April 20, at the Calvin R. Ledbetter Assembly Hall in UALR’s Donaghey Student Center.
Topics for the projects range from nanotechnology in cancer therapies to the effects of negative e-mails in political campaigns. The Expo and the 3 p.m. awards ceremony for top projects is free and open to the public. Awards will be presented in the categories of Life Sciences and Physical Sciences; Technology and Engineering; Social Sciences; and Arts and Humanities.
Two “best of the best” projects will be nominated for presentation in Washington, D.C., at the annual “Posters on the Hill” event organized by the National Council on Undergraduate Research.
The Undergraduate Research Expo showcases and encourages research and creative endeavors by UALR undergraduates in all disciplines, provides a venue that supports UALR’s combined educational and research missions, and allows students to exchange ideas in a professional setting.
