ATLE Seeks Social Media Examples

Members of the Academy of Teaching and Learning Excellence (ATLE) are asking UALR professors and teachers to raise their hands if they are using social media in the classroom.

“We are soliciting classroom users of social media – and those of us who just want to know what the deal is – for a panel discussion on how it can be used in the classroom,” said Dr. Steve Edison, associate professor of marketing and advertising. He is one of three directors of ATLE.

Social media includes forms of electronic communication, such as websites for social networking and microblogging – read Facebook, Twitter et al – through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content such as photos and videos.

ATLE is inviting faculty interested in the subject to a panel discussion on social media from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, in Room G of the Donaghey Student Center. For more information or to RSVP, contact the teaching academy at ATLE@ualr.edu.
