UALR to Host WBCA Pink ZoneTM Feb. 10 Against ULM

For the second-straight season, the UALR women’s basketball team will host the WBCA Pink Zone game Wednesday, Feb.10 as the Trojans host University of Louisiana-Monroe. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at the Jack Stephens Center.  The first 500 fans will receive free pink t-shirts.  All fans are encouraged to wear pink along with the Trojans in pink uniforms and support the cause.

Breast cancer survivors will be honored at half-time of the game.  The Arkansas Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure as well as Spit for a Cure will have tables set up in the main entrance of the Jack Stephens Center.

Two autographed pink jerseys, as well as an autographed pink basketball, will be raffled off at the game to raise money for the Arkansas Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the Kay Yow/WBCA Cancer Fund.

The WBCA Pink Zone initiative is a global, unified effort for the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association’s (WBCA) nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities, and beyond.

The WBCA Pink Zone, formerly known as “Think Pink”, started in 2007 with more than 120 institutions participating in all levels of women’s basketball.  The 2009 campaign raised over $1.3 million, reached over 912,000 fans, unified more than 1,600 participating teams and organizations, and saw 56-plus schools break attendance records at their event.
