A campus workshop planned for Thursday, March 12, will encourage participants to examine their perception of disability in order to arrive at new ways of framing it.

Sharon Downs, Director for the UALR Disability Resource Center, will lead the workshop titled “Reframing Disability” from 1 – 2:30 p.m. in room 205D in the Donaghey Student Center.

In a recent blog series, Downs has talked about what informs our views about disability, and the role of media in influencing our perceptions.

During the workshop Sharon will discuss these topics and more, with opportunity for participants to explore their questions and thoughts with the group in a safe and encouraging environment. Refreshments will be served.

Reframing Disability is part of a semester-long Learning Shorts series on Accessibility and Universal Design in conjunction with the Department of Educational Leadership, the Disability Resource Center, and Scholarly Technology and Resources (STaR).
