Mathews to Visit UA Little Rock to Discuss VA Disability Claims

The UA Little Rock Military Student Success Center will host a Veterans Affairs (VA) Disability Claims discussion with Dustin Matthews on Nov. 17 from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m.

Matthews will be discussing the following issues in the Speech Building Room 111 at 11 a.m.:

  • The difference in entitlement and eligibility
  • The three must-have pieces of evidence for a successful claim
  • PTSD and the false negativity that comes with it (not taking guns away because of “PTSD” diagnosis)
  • The importance of having a va.gov account
  • Four pathways for compensation/pension (Direct, Aggravation, Secondary, Presumptive)

“Dustin’s commitment to meet us on campus and answer our questions is a memorable experience,” said Travis Weigel, director of military student success at UA Little Rock. “I hope that many of you take advantage of Dustin’s continued support of veterans. This is also a perfect opportunity to double-check that all of your paperwork for the Spring 2022 semester is in order. The MSSC team is ready and available to assist you in guaranteeing your spring enrollment.”
