UA Little Rock Honors Outstanding Finance and Administration Employees
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock honored some of its hard-working employees who are going above and beyond during the third annual Finance and Administration Excellence Awards.
Ten employees were honored during the June 11 awards ceremony in the Donaghey Student Center. This included two special awards from Jerry Ganz, vice chancellor for finance and administration.
“It gives me great pleasure each year to be able to recognize the employees of the Finance and Administration division during this event,” Ganz said. “Our employees and our departments are critical to the success of UA Little Rock, and I am proud to acknowledge their terrific contributions to the university. I congratulate not only the winners, but all who were nominated. We truly do have a division of employees that are dedicated to their craft and who deeply care about doing their jobs well. I salute all of the employees in our division for their great work!”
Dale Fonville of Mail Services was recognized as the Employee of the Year, which honors an employee who consistently demonstrates exceptional job performance, leadership, innovation, and inclusive excellence.
Fonville’s nominators described him as someone who goes above and beyond, is attentive to the needs of others, dependable, trustworthy, professional, patient, and kind. Outside of work, Fonville is also a musician, pilot, wood carver, and minister.
Nicole Bolin of Financial Services received the Vice Chancellor’s Award for Excellence. This award represents special recognition of the excellence exhibited by an individual or department in the Finance and Administration Division.
Joshua Webb of the Department of Public Safety received the Terry Bobo Award for Excellence in Operational Efficiency, which honors an employee whose contributions make a measurable impact on the work environment through efficiencies. Terry Bobo was an employee in Information Technology Services that passed away unexpectedly in 2022 and was the inaugural winner of the award for Excellence in Operational Efficiency. The award has been renamed in Bobo’s honor to celebrate his contributions to campus.
Two employees received the Excellence in Customer Service Award, which honors a person who excels in customer service and who establishes and maintains positive and effective working relationships with fellow staff, faculty, students, and internal/external customers. The winners included Elliana Dutchover of Procurement Services and Sean Harris of Information Technology Services.
Additionally, Mary Worthy of Procurement Services received the Spotlight on Excellence Award. She was nominated by colleagues for three award categories and is receiving special recognition for consistently exhibiting excellence and inspiring others to strive for excellence.
Additional award winners include:
- Jack Higginbotham of Procurement Services, Excellence in Collaboration Award, which honors a collaborator who works effectively with others to produce positive results
- Michael Turner of Facilities Management, Excellence in Continuous Improvement Award, which honors an employee who shows dedication to process improvement and continuous innovation
- Bud Tillman of Information Technology Services, Excellence in Leadership Award, which honors a strong leader who demonstrates a unique ability to guide and inspire others
- Emily Mills of Facilities Management, Newcomer of the Year Award, which honors an exemplary employee who has joined the VCFA team in the past year
