Dr. Cynthia L. Taylor, Ph.D., CPA is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She has published research in various accounting journals and periodicals. In addition to serving as a tenured faculty member at UA Little Rock, she is the faculty adviser for the Beta Alpha Psi Honor Society. Dr. Taylor is known on campus and in the College of Business as an advocate for students, receiving multiple awards for impacting students’ lives in a positive way.
In addition to serving as a faculty member, she has the distinction of being the first African American tenured professor in the College of Business. She was also the first African American Donaghey Scholar at UA Little Rock, as well as the first African American to receive the TEAMS (Teaching Enhancements Affecting Minority Students) Fellowship at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
After completing her Ph.D. at Oklahoma State University in 1993 she returned home to give back to the university that supported her. Last, she serves faithfully at her local church as the minister of music and participates in numerous volunteer activities in the city and state.
