Dr. Rex Wilkins is a professor of Hispanic literature and cultural studies at UA Little Rock. He received is Ph.D. from the University of Arizona and his master’s degree from Brigham Young University. His research currently focuses on Latter-day Saint (Mormon) Latino culture and representation. Wilkins also studies the intersections of religion and politics in the United States and Latin America, as well as Latino popular culture in the transnational music industry. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi, a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow, and a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellow. He worked as a volunteer English as a Second Language teacher at the Tucson Welcome Center from 2021 to 2023.
