Dr. Christopher Tyler Burks is an assistant professor at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock School of Public Affairs, where he teaches in the Master of Public Administration and Nonprofit Management Certificate programs. His research focuses on urban policy and regional governance for equitable and sustainable development. He supports public and nonprofit organizations as the founder of Urban Analysis, a management consulting firm for changemaking through policy, planning, and politics.
Professor Burks is committed to the civic, professional, and intellectual development of his students. He mentors students on how to advance their career, especially by getting involved in the civic life of their city. In his pedagogy, he draws on his experience as a planning commissioner, neighborhood officer, and policy analyst to illustrate the theory and practice of public service.
