A seven-time entrepreneur and former Chief of Operations for a $60 Million company, John Hendon brought his experience and interests to the classroom full time in 1994 and has been a faculty member for the University of Central Arkansas and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock for over 25 years. He teaches primarily in the areas of Human Resources Management, Strategy and Planning, and Organizational Management, and he researches in a number of areas in the Management field, specializing in human resources, entrepreneurial and family business.
Hendon is a nationally recognized Human Resources expert and best-selling author. His textbook, “Human Resources Management: Functions, Applications, Skill Development” with Sage Publishing, co-authored with Dr. Robert Lussier, is one of the top 10 Human Resource Management texts in the U.S. The fourth edition came out in January 2021. In addition, the third edition of his “Fundamentals of Human Resources” book will be released in January 2023.
Hendon consults with businesses in the areas of Human Resources, Family Business, and Strategic Analysis and Planning. Over the course of the past 25 years, he has provided professional assistance in the start up and operation of dozens of businesses, along with cities, government agencies and public utilities. In addition, he has nearly 20 years experience as an operations and logistics manager, business owner, and U.S. Navy Supply Corps Officer.
