Bachelor of Science (BSN) Scholarships

Willard and Pat Walker Endowed Nursing Scholarship BSN-Completion

Awarded to an admitted nursing student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in nursing. Applicant must have academic accomplishment and financial need. A writing sample should be submitted with the application. Interviews will be scheduled during the application process. The application period begins in June.

Associate of Applied Science (AAS) Scholarships

Willard and Pat Walker Endowed Nursing Scholarship
Awarded to an admitted nursing student. Applicant must have academic accomplishment and financial need.  A writing sample should be submitted with the application. Interviews will be scheduled during the application process. The application period begins in June.

Willard and Pat Walker Transition Scholarship
This scholarship is offered to first-year UA Little Rock nursing students enrolled in the LPN/Paramedic to RN program who will complete NURS 1415 and NURS 1420 in the summer. Selection will be based on financial need, academic excellence, and professionalism. Academic performance assessment will include GPA in general education courses required for the major, UA Little Rock GPA, repeated courses, and pattern of enrollment. The application period begins in June.

CHI St. Vincent Pathway Scholarship
Awarded to an admitted nursing student, either a traditional student in their second year of the program or a new LPN/Paramedic to RN student. Applicants must have academic accomplishment and agree to employment with CHI St. Vincent for a minimum of 24 months after graduation. Letters of recommendation should be submitted with the application. Interviews will be scheduled during the application process. The application period begins in April.

Saline Memorial Hospital Pathway Scholarship
Awarded to an admitted traditional nursing student in progress in their first semester. Award will be based on academic record, professionalism, and agreement to work for Saline Memorial Hospital for minimum of 24 months after graduation. Letters of recommendation should be submitted with the application. Interviews will be scheduled during the application process. The application period begins in June.

Corinne E. Phillips Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full or part-time nursing student. Award will be based primarily on academic accomplishment and secondarily based on financial need. Award is presented in memory of Corinne E. Phillips, a devoted registered nurse in the community.

Florence C. Zook, RN Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full or part-time nursing student entering their 2nd year of the nursing program. Applicant must have a GPA above the average GPA of the current nursing class. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered with financial need being the determining factor if all else is equal. Award is presented in memory of Florence C. Zook, a dedicated registered nurse whose professional career exemplified compassion and caring.

Hazel Kriegbaum Russ Nursing Scholarship
Awarded to a full or part-time nursing student. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.

Patricia P. and George E. Thompson, Jr. Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full or part-time nursing student in the process of completing their first year of the program and who does not hold a prior degree. Financial need is strongly considered. Students considered for this scholarship shall be selected by first year faculty. Preference is given to applicants who are progressing in the nursing program but otherwise would not be awarded an academic scholarship.

Phyllis Ann Bailey Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to a full or part-time nursing student. Academic accomplishment and financial need will be strongly considered.
