Last year the University hosted the first Research Cluster Seed Grant Competition in an attempt to encourage faculty and staff to pursue interdisciplinary extra mural funding. This competition resulted in nine letters of intent, seven full proposal submissions, and the subsequent funding of two awards in the amount of $50,000 each over a two year period. University administration felt that this competition was beneficial to the campus; therefore, it is with great pleasure that I inform you that we plan to continue the program into the 2015-2016 academic year. Listed on the Office of Research and Sponsored programs website you will find the guidelines and instructions for participating in the new competition. We sincerely hope that you will consider participating and will begin to assemble your team and proposal. We look forward to reviewing these proposals and learning about the new areas of interest that have developed over the past year.
