Webinar: SI Happy Hour! (with Stanley Lo, UCSD) “Conceptualizing Diversity in Higher Education”

June 26, 2020 at 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Webinars for faculty
When we hear the word “diversity” in relation to higher education, what comes to mind? Please join Stanley Lo from the University of California San Diego as we discuss research on how higher education instructors conceptualize diversity in the classroom and how these conceptions inform their approaches to teaching and learning. Together, we will examine features and variations among different conceptions of diversity and brainstorm approaches to intentionally create more equitable and inclusive learning environments.

Grab a drink, get a snack, and drop in to relax for a few minutes on Zoom to share challenges and successes around the rapid transition to remote teaching and learning. Come ready to chat with others who may be having common experiences at their home institutions. Based on research by the Summer Institutes, we know that supports are three times more important than barriers in implementing Scientific Teaching in typical classroom environments, so join us for support from the Summer Institutes (SI) community (Bathgate et al., 2019a2019b). See you soon- on zoom!
