Mission

The mission of the Office of the Dean of Students is to educate students regarding the university’s expectations of behavior, to protect student’s rights, and to assure fairness and due process.

Summary Narrative

Develop a responsive student experience and engagement program

  • Effectively advised the Student Government Association throughout the academic year.
  • Presented on campus safety best practices at all PEAW courses.

Enhance the sustainability of auxiliary services

  • Effectively supervised and managed financial budgets of over 8 million dollars for the following units: Donaghey Student Center, Campus Living, and Auxiliary Services (Dining and Bookstore).
  • Increased revenue for the Donaghey Student Center, Campus Living, and, Campus Dining.

Enhance the recruitment, service, and engagement of and for UA Little Rock’s diverse student population

  • Served as ex-officio member of the university’s Racial Barriers Committee.

Other

  • Served as co-chair for the Policy Management Board.
  • The unit continued to implement the student conduct process and advocate for students through various university processes.
  • Assisted 33 students through efforts from the behavioral intervention team.

During the Fall 2022 and Spring 2023 semesters, students who participated in the student conduct process were sent a survey to evaluate the student conduct process. The survey was sent to 50 students. However, there was only a 14% (7/50) response rate to the survey. Below are the findings.
