Bioinformatics is the combination of biology and computer science.

The bioinformatics graduate degrees are offered jointly with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. This partnership combines academic, clinical, and research resources with computational, scientific, academic, and research capabilities. Graduates are prepared to function in an interdisciplinary research environment. The bioinformatics minor trains students in the areas of information science and biology and prepares them to apply computational techniques to a variety of life science areas.
