Helen O’Toole: Memory and Landscape
November 11, 2022 at 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Helen O’Toole is a painter who lives in the USA and is originally from Ireland. While both countries influence her practice, her work primarily responds to the context of Ireland: its landscape, its history, and the collective traumas associated with that history. O’Toole has received many grants and awards, including a John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation Fellowship and a Pollock-Krasner Award. She has work in private and public collections, including that of the Portland Art Museum in Oregon. She is a Professor of Art and Chair of the Painting and Drawing Program at the University of Washington, Seattle.
This lecture is in person at the Windgate Center of Art + Design in room 101 & Zoom
