Butch Anthony lives in Seale, Alabama on his 80-acre compound filled with outdoor art, animals, his house, and his renowned House of Wonder. He is a collector and mixed media artist. He wanders amiably around in his overalls as he greets anyone who may wander out to see him. In conjunction with the survey of Outsider Folk Art on exhibit this semester, this exhibition features Anthony’s mixed-media vintage photograph combinations and an early painting on upstretched canvas which references Side Show banners from the collection of Jeanne Lockeby Hursley and Timothy Hursley of Little Rock.
