Mrs. Bailey is a retired nurse with over 40 years experience in health care. She graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors Degree in Nursing in 1984, and received a Masters in Nursing Degree from Marymount University in 1992 with a focus in Nursing Education. She is Board Certified in Nursing Education and Professional Development by the American Nursing Credentialing Center.
Over her career she has developed an expertise in medical/surgical and critical care nursing; as well as nursing staff development, health literacy, culturally competent care, and patient education. She has worked in roles from that of a bedside nurse to being a nurse executive of a Nursing Education department.
Mrs. Bailey also served a distinguished career in the United States Navy Nurse Corps. She retired as a Captain with 28 years of service that combined active and reserve duty including a 9 month tour on the Hospital Ship Comfort during Operation Desert Storm from 1990-1991.
