Grab a pizza for dinner at U.S. Pizza on Fair Park Boulevard on Thursday, Sept. 23, and the restaurant will donate 10 percent of its proceeds from that event to the UALR Staff Senate’s “Helping Hands” project.

Each year, the senate collects money and non-perishable food items to prepare food baskets to assist fellow UALR employees and their families during the holiday season. Last year, the state Senate assisted 130 families with food baskets.

From 5 p.m. until the restaurant closes, every purchase helps the Helping Hands effort.

“We will also have boxes out to collect non-perishable food items,” said Sylvester Cartwright, research assistant in Testing and Student Live Research and a member of the Staff Senate’s Helping Hands committee. “We encourage faculty, staff, and students to come out on the 23rd to eat and help us raise funds for this worthwhile projects.”
