Alums Salute Crescent City Culture at ‘Taste of New Orleans’
Friends of UALR who “know what it means to miss New Orleans” will gather March 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Alumni Association’s “Taste of New Orleans” at the Bailey Alumni and Friends Center at 28th Street and Campus Drive West.
The Happy Tymes Jazz Band will have revelers “second lining” to tables of traditional gumbo and red beans and rice as well as specialties like andouille sausage and creole mustard, crabmeat beignets, muffuletta salad, and bread pudding. Louisiana’s own Abita Beer and wine also are on the menu.
“We’re bringing a little bit of Bourbon Street to the Bailey Alumni Center for an evening of fun and frivolity for a great cause – student scholarships,” said Angela Parker ’94, who is co-chairing the Taste of New Orleans event with her husband, Dr. David Sink.
