League Hosts UALR Children Int’l Fun Day

UALR Children International, in partnership with the Junior League of Little Rock, will host Family Fun Day, part of the annual Boosters & Big Rigs event, for sponsored children and their families from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 28, at the UALR Jack Stephens Center.

“We are expecting Family Fun Day to be bigger than ever this year,” said UALR Children International Director Kyle Miller. “This is our main event where we get to say ‘thank you’ to our sponsored children, youth, and their parents for helping us make our agency a success.”

The event will include a musical performance by Kinder Songs, car seat safety tips for parents, and Touch-A-Truck, a unique interactive activity that allows children to climb on, explore, and discover their favorite big trucks and vehicles. A bounce house, games, and free food will also add to the fun.

Dental screenings, dental sealants, general wellness physicals, and athletic physicals for UALR CI children and youth who have completed annual program requirements will be available. Other activities will include vision and hearing screenings, cholesterol checks, child immunizations, human papilloma virus vaccinations, and information at Ask-A-Doctor and Ask-A-Pharmacist booths.

Pre-K through eighth grade students will receive free scholastic books, and all sponsored high school students will receive a calculator.

UALR Children International sponsors 3,000 children, kindergarten through 12th grade, with the help of more than 10,000 individual sponsors. Through the affordable monthly giving program, children and youth receive the right help at the right time.

Around the world, Children International is helping 330,000 children in 11 countries by providing meaningful benefits and services to help children grow up confident, healthy, and educated. UALR Children International serves as CI’s only U.S. site.
