Spirits high for campus Halloween events
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock will be celebrating in style this week for several Halloween-themed events.
Students, faculty, and staff are invited to these free activities on Thursday, Oct. 31, and Friday, Nov. 1:
Hauntenheimer Library – Get dressed up for the Ottenheimer Library’s costume contest. The first 30 contestants between 8 a.m. and noon will be judged and narrowed down to the top five.
The campus community is asked to vote on the top five which will be posted to the library’s Facebook page. First place will receive a $50 gift card to Target, second place will receive a $25 iTunes gift card, and third place will receive a $15 Starbucks gift card.
Halle-Boo-Jah – The annual Halloween concert put on by the music department will take place at noon in the Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall where all the musicians get into the Halloween spirit by wearing costumes. Call 501.569.3294 for information.
Haunted Hall – From 6 to 10 p.m., kids of all ages are invited to a fun house in East Hall featuring arts and crafts, food, a haunted house, glow-in-the-dark activities, games, and more. For more information, contact Dariane Mull at 569.681.8210.
Day of the Dead – The Graduate Student Association will host a celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. held in the Donaghey Student Center, Upper Level Concourse, that will feature themed food, activities, and a brief presentation on the culture and history of the day, which began in Mexico.
