McNair Scholars sets dates for workshops and info sessions
The McNair Scholars Program at UALR is reaching out to qualified sophomores and juniors interested in conducting undergraduate research and attending graduate school.
The program works with students from historically disadvantaged backgrounds who want more experience with undergraduate research, a necessary component of competitive graduate school admissions.
Students wanting to know more about the McNair Scholars Program or graduate school processes may choose from one of two sessions to be held in early November in room 116-A of the Academic Success Center, located in the Speech Building.
The first information session and workshop will be held from 6:15 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5. A second session will be offered from 12:15 to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6.
During the first part of the information session, students will learn more about the McNair Scholars Program and its application process. A workshop on the graduate school application process – what to expect and how to prepare – will follow the first session.
The McNair Program application deadline is Friday, Nov. 15. For more information and an application, go to ualr.ed/mcnair.
