UALR wins $10,000 in NCAA competition, moves to next round
UALR made it to the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA 6th Fan contest on Feb. 17 and won $10,000 for student scholarships.
The nationwide online competition was launched by the NCAA to determine which Division I school has the most school pride and supportive fans.
Thanks to the campus community, alumni, and supporters, UALR is still in the running to make it to the Elite Eight round to win even more scholarship money for students.
However, UALR fans must outvote the fans from the competitor to advance to next round.
The overall winning school will receive $100,000 to support the school’s general scholarship fund.
UALR fans may vote every day through each voting method: online, Twitter, and Facebook.
Online votes may be cast at the NCAA website. Votes through Twitter and Facebook can also be submitted at the NCAA site.
Additionally, votes may be made on Twitter by using both the #6thFan and #UALR hashtags in a tweet or by retweeting any tweet that uses those hashtags.
Follow the main UALR and UALR Athletics Twitter accounts to receive updates on the university’s standing each day.
The championship round starts March 9 and runs through March 16 when the winning school will be announced on Selection Sunday.
