Academic Challenge Scholarship deadline approaching
UALR officials remind new and returning students that the final deadline to apply for all Arkansas Department of Higher Education (ADHE) financial aid programs – including the Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship – is Sunday, June 1.
The online YOUniversal scholarship application will be accessible on the ADHE website or the mobile application until midnight Sunday but will be unavailable to accept any new applications or supporting documents after the deadline passes, according to ADHE Director Shane Broadway.
There will be an exception made for students of weather-damaged Independence, Faulkner, Pulaski, Randolph and White counties, Broadway said, because many of them were directly impacted by the storm. The deadline is July 1 for students living in those areas. They may call the ADHE if they need help with the process.
The Arkansas Department of Higher Education is responsible for carrying out the policy directives of the AHECB, approving and reviewing college and university academic programs, and developing funding recommendations for the state’s 11 public universities and 22 public two-year colleges as well as several other post-secondary entities.
