Alumnus nominated by president to serve on U.S. District Court
President Barack Obama last week nominated a University of Arkansas at Little Rock graduate as a nominee for the U.S. District Court.
Robert William “Trey” Schroeder III, a nominee for the Eastern District of Texas, received his B.A. degree in political science from UALR in 1989. He received his juris doctorate from American University Washington College of Law in 1994.
Schroeder has been a partner at Patton, Tidwell, Schroeder & Culbertson, LLP and its predecessor firm since 2003. He handles complex civil litigation in federal and state courts.
Prior to joining the firm in 1999, Schroeder served as a law clerk for Judge Richard S. Arnold of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit from 1997 to 1999. He worked in the Office of the White House Counsel as associate counsel to the president in 1997 and as assistant counsel to the president from 1995 to 1996.
Judge Madeline Cox Arleo, Judge Amos L. Mazzant III, and Robert Lee Pitman were also nominated to serve on the U.S. District Courts.
“Throughout their careers, these nominees have displayed unwavering commitment to justice and integrity,” said Obama, in a news release.
“Their records of public service are distinguished and impressive, and I am confident that they will serve the American people well from the United States District Court bench. I am honored to nominate them today.”
