Student org launches fight song lyric competition
The Student Government Association (SGA) at UALR is hosting a fight song lyric competition through January 2015 to promote camaraderie and school spirit.
“We believe this fight song could go a long way in developing those two areas,” said Connor Donovan, president pro tempore and head of the Trojan Spirit Committee for the SGA.
Anyone who has UALR an e-mail address may compete – current and past students, alumni, faculty and staff.
A panel of ten UALR students, alumni, and faculty will choose the winning lyrics, which may be featured at the Spring ‘15 basketball homecoming game.
The winner will receive $500, and the lyrics will be adopted as UALR’s official fight song lyrics. Contestants may submit lyrics at https://ualr.edu/communications/fightsong/.
Adhere to the following guidelines:
- Must coincide with the instrumental music for UALR’s Fight Song
- Cannot contain any vulgar language or suggestive themes or messages
- Cannot contain the name of any student or describe any individual or his or her likeness
- Must be written in a general format to include all UALR students rather than an individual team, organization, college, or department.
The deadline for submissions is Jan. 23, 2015.
