Pikes attend leadership summit

Eleven members of the UALR Zeta Eta Chapter joined other Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity undergraduates at the 2015 Pike University Leadership Summit in Dallas in February.

Pike University Leadership Summits provide undergraduate students the opportunity to attend sessions that expedite their career development after graduation, according to Past President and current Chapter Public Relations Chair Brandon Bagwell.

Bagwell, a history major from Hensley, also serves as social chair and continuing education chair of the UALR chapter.

“These summits give undergraduates and alumni from across North America a chance to grow both as brothers, and become better men,” he said.

“Pike University continues to provide elite professional development training for its members and cultivates a truly lifelong fraternal experience.”

The following students attended the Dallas Leadership Summit: Chandler Ferrand, Elvis Mull, Zach Pinkerton, Brandon Bagwell, Aaron Cano, Rusty Bell, Matt Bohannan, Jacob Giffin, Giovanni Arreola, Jason Waymire, and Joseph Eggburn.

They are with Clemson University Provost Jerome Reel, author of “The Oak” and international historian of Pi Kappa Alpha.

Sessions included a focus on such topics as leadership, public speaking, personal branding, personal finance, alcohol and drug awareness, bystander intervention, understanding personal values, and problem solving to create positive change.

Additionally, Pike University’s Leadership Lecture Series highlighted a prominent Pi Kappa Alpha alumnus who shared insight on leadership and life lessons that led to his personal and professional success.

The Leadership Summit was one of the nine Pike University events held annually across the continent with over 3,500 annual participants.
