UALR scholars contribute to new book on STEM education
Nearly 10 authors with connections to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock contributed to a new book aimed at improving education for gifted students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines.
“STEM Education for High-Ability Learners: Designing and Implementing Programming,” which was released this summer, includes 15 detailed chapters written by leading university scholars from throughout the country, including nine affiliated with UALR.
“It’s an excellent resource for educators teaching and leading STEM education programs, by bringing all of the essential elements together in one place,” said book editor and co-author Bronwyn MacFarlane, an associate professor in the UALR College of Education and Health Professions.
Authors affiliated with UALR — either as alumni, graduate faculty, adjunct instructors or graduate students — include:
- Bronwyn MacFarlane
- Alicia Cotabish
- Debbie Dailey
- Mary Christine Deitz
- Kristy Kidd
- Rachelle Miller
- Heather Olvey
- Ann Robinson
- Amy Sedivy-Benton
Copies of the book are available online through publisher Prufrock Press and from Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Walmart.
