Opportunity awaits students at Career, Internship, and Service Extravaganza

University of Arkansas at Little Rock students have the opportunity to meet, network, and visit with a variety of employers and nonprofit organizations during the inaugural Career, Internship, and Service Extravaganza. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21, in the Jack Stephens Center.

Not only will students benefit from exploring their options, but employers and institutions also will have the opportunity to find qualified employees, interns, and volunteers as they meet and visit with UALR students.

About 80 businesses and service organizations signed up to participate — with registration continuing through Wednesday, Oct. 14. Some of the organizations scheduled to attend are: Arkansas Foodbank, Baptist Health Hospice, Central Arkansas Library System, Clinton Presidential Center, Heifer International, and The Salvation Army. For an extended list, visit this link.

Organizers have encouraged students to participate in resume, cover letter and interview skills workshops in preparation for meeting with potential employers and other organizations that might provide internship or volunteer opportunities.

A workshop on interview skills remains: 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at the UALR Cooperative Education Internship & Placement Office in the Old Education Building, Suite 204. For more information, call 501.569.3584.

Registration for businesses ends today (Wednesday, Oct. 14). The registration fee covers a table, breakfast, and lunch for two representatives. For more information, click here.

Students interested in volunteering at the event may sign up online.
