Annual holiday art sale to offer original work Dec. 4-5
One-of-a-kind art pieces will be available for purchase at UALR’s annual holiday art sale from noon to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, and from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, in the Applied Design Studio at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Admission is free and parking is plentiful in University Plaza on the corners of University and Asher avenues.
The artwork of established and up-and-coming student, faculty, and alumni artists covers a variety of mediums including paintings, photographs, drawings, prints, pottery, sculpture, wood objects, furniture, jewelry, fiber pieces, and more.
Prices of artwork vary per artist who represent a broad range of artistic influences like alumna Heather Beckwith who creates pottery inspired by family and friends.
The sale will also feature UALR Department of Art faculty like award-winning furniture designer Mia Hall and Michael Warrick, 2015 winner of the Sculpture at the River Market’s Public Art Monument Sculpture Commission Competition.
The annual event features students like Douglas Frank who creates jewelry and metals. One of Frank’s pieces inspired the look for the Fifth Annual 6×6 Holiday Art Sale Preview and Reception — an event that includes a special preview of the Holiday Art Sale from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 3.
Advance tickets for 6×6 are available at ualr.at/6×6 or at the door.
General admission is $35, $25 for staff and faculty, and $15 for students.
