The University of Arkansas at Little Rock William H. Bowen School of Law has been recognized for excellence in public service careers by the National Jurist.

As part of its winter edition of preLaw magazine, the National Jurist honored about 50 law schools for excellence in public service careers. Its study recognizes the law schools that do the best job of preparing students for careers in public service in three categories – public interest, government, and prosecutors/public defenders.

Bowen School of Law was ranked sixth in the government category and 17th in the prosecutors/public defenders category.

National Jurist’s rankings were based on curriculum offerings, employment placement, debt, starting salary, and loan repayment assistance programs.

The National Jurist was founded in 1991 and reaches approximately 100,000 law students, while preLaw was founded in 1997 and is read by more than 45,000 prospective law students.
