The University of Arkansas at Little Rock is recreating “The Newlywed Game” to raise funds for students who are studying to become interpreters in UALR’s Interpreter Education Program.

The fundraiser will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. April 1 at the Arkansas School for the Deaf in Parnell Hall.

Hosting the show is Ernest Northup, who will ask the couples questions to see how well they truly know each other. The participating couples are Karen and Glenn Anderson, Cheri and J.R. Courtright, and Holly and Stan Ketchum.

All proceeds will go to the Barbara Northup Interpreter Scholarship Fund. Northup was a longtime UALR instructor who was dedicated to both the interpreter and deaf communities.

The scholarship will be used to support students as they work toward becoming interpreters in the UALR Interpreter Education Program. The scholarship is to be awarded annually to one or more students who apply.

The cost of attendance is $10. Children under 10 get in for free. Only cash and checks will be accepted. Refreshments will be provided.
